Mortars are practical kitchen aids for crushing and grinding spices and herbs.
Tips: Before using the mortar for the first time, you should grind a portion of coarse salt or uncooked rice 2-3 times in a new mortar made of natural stone so that the mortar and pestle can adapt to each other and stone abrasion is minimized. Then throw away the salt or rice.
